Before launching Farsight, Michael Silva faced the same challenge many business owners do: feeling lost, creatively unfulfilled, and disconnected from purpose.
This short film captures the turning point: a journey through travel, reflection, and storytelling that sparked the creation of a business rooted in meaning. The solution wasn’t just starting a company; it was building one designed to help others feel seen, heard, and remembered.
The result is Farsight, a bold, purpose-led video marketing agency grounded in emotional connection and strategic storytelling. This is the story behind the stories and the vision that drives everything we do.
The purpose of this short film was to humanise the Farsight brand by sharing the real story behind its creation, not through a corporate lens, but through a personal, reflective narrative.

This project began not with a storyboard, but with a question: What’s the story behind why Farsight exists?
To answer it, we approached the film as a narrative short, blending scripted voiceover, documentary-style footage, and cinematic visuals. The goal was to create a piece that felt personal yet polished, emotional yet intentional.
The script was developed collaboratively, drawing from Michael Silva’s own journal entries, travel reflections, and life milestones. It was then refined to ensure clarity, flow, and a rhythm that would hold the viewer’s attention throughout.
Filming took place at Aberdeen Arts Centre and was shot using the Black Magic 6K Camera.

The post-production process focused on voiceover performance, sound design, and cinematic colour grading, ensuring the final piece felt grounded, personal, and visually distinct. Music was selected to reinforce mood and pacing, guiding the emotional arc without overpowering the message.
The Story Behind the Stories achieved exactly what it set out to do, not just to introduce a company, but to reveal the heart behind it.
By sharing the raw, personal journey that led to the creation of Farsight, the film helped define the brand’s identity: one built on purpose, resilience, and the power of story. It resonated deeply with peers, clients, and collaborators, sparking conversation, connection, and clarity about who Farsight is and what it stands for.
