DSV Aberdeen | Cinematic Brand Video for Logistics & Energy

Introduction

DSV Aberdeen plays a crucial role in the global supply chain, particularly within the energy sector, acting as one of six dedicated Oil & Gas hubs worldwide. Farsight was commissioned to create a high-impact brand video that captures the scale, precision, and people behind their operation.

Filmed on location in Aberdeen, the video showcases DSV’s full logistics capability, from on-site crating and Dangerous Goods packing to Purchase Order management, container loading, and transport engineering. With drone footage, live-action visuals, and a powerful voiceover narrative, the project brings DSV’s values and services to life in a bold, cinematic format.

Objectives

The goal of this project was to create a professional, story-led video that not only showcases DSV Aberdeen’s day-to-day operations, but positions the company as a trusted logistics leader within the energy sector.

Key objectives included:

  • Showcasing DSV Aberdeen as a full-service logistics provider with specialist Oil & Gas capabilities
  • Highlighting core services such as dangerous goods packing, Purchase Order management, and transport engineering
  • Creating a versatile asset for use across sales, recruitment, internal communications, and online channels
  • Reinforcing DSV’s reputation for safety, speed, and operational excellence
  • Strengthening brand visibility and market recognition across the UK logistics and energy sectors

Strategy & Solution

To reflect the scale and capability of DSV Aberdeen, we developed a cinematic visual strategy that combined storytelling, operational footage, and aerial perspectives. Our approach focused on capturing the facility in action, showing not just what DSV does, but how they do it.

We structured the film around four pillars: people, process, scale, and precision. Filming took place over a day to ensure full coverage of DSV’s key services, including Dangerous Goods packing, Purchase Order checking, and container loading. The use of drone footage elevated the production value and provided spatial context to their logistics hub.

Instead of traditional interviews, the decision was made to use a professionally recorded voiceover, allowing us to drive home DSV’s values and service offering in a sharp, focused narrative.

From the start, our aim was to create more than just a corporate video. This was about building a branded film that DSV could use across LinkedIn, presentations, recruitment, and beyond, positioning their Aberdeen branch as a critical force within global supply chains.

Campaign Execution

Filming took place on location at DSV Aberdeen over a full production day, with a multi-person crew capturing high-impact visuals across the office, warehouse, yard, and crating areas.

Drone footage was used to establish the scale of the site and highlight vehicle movement, while interior footage showcased the precision and pace of the team’s work, from packing and scanning to Purchase Order management and transport coordination.

Key areas captured included:

  • Dangerous goods packing and certification services
  • Onsite crating and loading of large and specialist cargo
  • Full line checking and scanning processes
  • Live office footage including boardroom meetings and CAD visualisation
  • DSV-branded trucks and container movement on-site

A professionally recorded voiceover was scripted and produced to guide the final edit, blending brand messaging with the visual narrative. Supporting photography was also captured to provide additional content for internal comms, LinkedIn, and web use.

Results & Conclusion

The final video delivered a bold, professional representation of DSV Aberdeen’s operations, aligning brand identity with visual storytelling and capturing the full scope of their logistics capabilities.

By focusing on real people, real processes, and high-quality visuals, the film now serves as a multi-purpose asset across internal communications, recruitment, stakeholder presentations, and digital marketing.

Initial feedback from the DSV team was highly positive, highlighting how well the video reflects their service offering and the strength of their local team.

This project not only strengthened DSV Aberdeen’s position within the Oil & Gas logistics sector, it also demonstrated how creative content can be used to bring technical, high-stakes work to life with clarity, pace, and purpose.
